HOW TO SUBMIT TO DECAMERON

“The style!- that was the thing.”
- Edgar Allan Poe, "Literary Life of Thingum Bob, Esq."

DECAMERON PUBLISHES SHORT prose stories of up to 1,000 words. We accept multiple and simultaneous submissions. In addition, we are also looking for submissions of original translations from any language, accompanied by a copy of the source text and that text’s date of original publication.

Please review the editors' comments at our About page to get a sense of our aesthetic preferences, or at our Links page or Prose of the Week archive for examples of prose we were impressed by.

Due to an unanticipated flood of submissions needing consideration, the editors have elected to postpone the publication of the first Decameron anthology to 2010. The deadline for submissions has accordingly been extended to May 1, 2010.

Please email your story submissions as .RTF or .DOC attachments, or mail them to:

Decameron, c/o The Pen and Anvil Press, 95 Melville Avenue, Boston, MA, 02124.

THE DECAMERON FICTION PRIZE

All submissions are eligible for the $300 Decameron 2010 Fiction Prize, if accompanied by the $3.00 entry fee. The winner selected by our editors will be announced in the summer of 2010.
